Kathleen Zintsmaster, MOT, OTR/L
Owner & Occupational Therapist
Hi, I’m Kathleen! I'm a licensed occupational therapist and founder of Bright Harbor OT. Since becoming an OT in 2018, I’ve had the privilege of supporting children and families across a variety of settings. My experience includes managing a pediatric therapy department within a center for the autistic community and helping to establish an occupational therapy program within a therapy clinic.
I earned my Master of Occupational Therapy from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, and hold bachelor’s degrees in Wellness and Health Promotion and Health Sciences from Oakland University, also in the Detroit area. I have specialized training in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and am a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200), which allows me to integrate mindfulness, movement, and body awareness into therapy when beneficial.
My practice is grounded in a neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based approach. I strive to make every child feel seen, supported, and celebrated for who they are. I specialize in working with children with autism, ADHD, and developmental delays, helping them build executive functioning, emotional regulation, fine and gross motor skills, handwriting, and visual-motor coordination through engaging, play-based therapy.
I approach each client with a fresh perspective and a genuine desire to understand their world. My goal is for every child and family I work with to feel empowered, capable, and supported in their journey.
Outside of my work, I love running, lifting, and hiking, and I treasure time spent walking to playgrounds with my husband and two amazing daughters. Evenings often end curled up with tea and a book after the kids are asleep. As a family, we love to travel and explore new places together, always finding joy in movement, growth, and connection.
