Bright Harbor Occupational Therapy will be expanding in 2026 to offer lactation and breastfeeding support for mothers, infants, and families. Lactation services at Bright Harbor will be provided through an occupational therapy lens, supporting both the infant’s development and the parent’s physical comfort, confidence, and daily routines. This approach recognizes feeding as a meaningful occupation—one that is deeply personal, functional, and unique to every family.

At Bright Harbor, all feeding journeys are honored. Whether breastfeeding, combination feeding, pumping, bottle feeding or navigating unexpected challenges, the goal is for families to feel supported, informed, and confident—whatever path they choose.
Infant feeding is more than latch or milk supply. It involves motor skills, sensory processing, positioning,
endurance, regulation, and parental well-being. As an occupational therapist and Certified Lactation
Counselor (CLC), care at Bright Harbor will thoughtfully address infant oral-motor skills, posture, tone,
and coordination; feeding positions that support effective milk transfer and reduce strain; sensory
regulation for infants who are tense, disorganized, or easily overwhelmed, parent body mechanics,
comfort, and postpartum recovery during feeding; and practical strategies for integrating feeding into
everyday routines. This comprehensive approach allows lactation support to go beyond
troubleshooting—supporting confidence, sustainability, and connection.
Occupational therapists are trained to understand how skills, environments, and routines intersect. In
lactation care, this means looking beyond feeding mechanics to support how feeding fits into real life.
By combining pediatric occupational therapy expertise with lactation-specific training, Bright Harbor offers care that is developmentally informed, functionally focused, individualized, and family-centered—helping families move toward feeding that feels calmer, more comfortable, and more sustainable.
Lactation services will typically begin with a brief phone consultation followed by an initial evaluation in the comfort of your home. We will assess any feeding concerns, environmental modifications, and supports for the dyad. Ongoing sessions and schedules will be discussed at the evaluation.
Lactation services at Bright Harbor OT will be offered as private-pay services. Detailed service offerings, pricing, and scheduling information will be available early 2026.

About Your Provider
Bright Harbor was founded by a pediatric occupational therapist and mother of two, with a deep appreciation for how unique and meaningful each feeding relationship can be. Both professionally and personally, it has been clear that no two feeding journeys look the same and that each one deserves a thoughtful, non-judgmental Bright Harbor to flourish.
Lactation services are being added to Bright Harbor so that we can walk alongside families through challenges, transitions, and successes. We know firsthand the strong and beautiful connection each mother-baby dyad has and how it can impact all areas of your life. We aim to provide care that is respectful, empowering, and grounded in trust. We want you to be successful - however that looks to you and your baby!
Lactation services will be provided by a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), with additional lactation-specific training in infant development and massage.
